What is the difference between proofreading and in-depth editing?
Proofreading involves catching and correcting grammatical errors. In addition, my In-depth editing services also include improving style, clarity, readability (a sentence may be technically correct, but may read awkwardly), offering suggestions and sentence restructuring when necessary.
What is your typical turnaround time?
I like to be as time efficient as possible. No job is ever rushed but if I can finish ahead of schedule I will. Smaller projects (under 5K words) are usually returned within 2 days. Larger projects requiring more work will take longer. A 100K word in-dept editing and proofreading project could take me up to 3 weeks. Feel free to message me beforehand for a more specific time frame.
Do you edit books?
Yes, I am happy to edit and proofread books of all genres. I have edited both fiction and non fiction. My past book projects have included biographies, novels, large instruction manuals, large e-books and kindle books,
Is this really a manual editing service?
Yes. Manual editing and proofreading is essential. No editing tool will ever be a substitute for a skilled professional. I manually edit all content sent to me. Editing tools fail to catch nuances of syntax that impact readability. Even worse, they often offer suggestions that are incorrect!
Do you offer formatting services?
No. I am happy to purposefully and meticulously edit and proofread your written work but I do not offer formatting services.
Will you do my assignment/write my paper for me?
Unfortunately, I cannot offer these sorts of services at this time. I can only edit, proofread, or rewrite existing content. No original research or writing will be done.
What format should I send?
I have found that PDF files and Microsoft Word documents work best for me
